Some of the specific things people have recommended that you can go do here:
Feeding the Fish - There's an area around the boardwalk where you can purchase feed to give to huge fish that swim around begging for food.
Fireworks Display - On Tuesdays, they have a huge fireworks display for visitors. It's seasonal, though, lasting from after Memorial day until Labor Day.
Miss Broadway Water Taxi - A water Taxi that will take you around the fountains in Lake Broadway.
Gondola Rides - If you want something more romantic than the taxi, you can get a traditional Italian gondola ride on the lake.
Myrtle Waves Water Park - There's a huge area for swimming here with slides and tons of rides to give you stuff to do during the day.
Palace Theatre - A huge evening entertainment center that houses Le Grande Cirque, a live performance show.
Also keep in mind that many of the famous attractions are located here - Ripley's Aquarium, the NASCAR Speedpark, the IMAX Theater, and the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, a local baseball team affiliated with the Braves. They've got a pretty good website that lists everything in detail - you might want to look into some of the restaurants when planning stuff to eat (although some of it is extremely generic, such as Planet Hollywood, but there are several genuine local restaurants there).
