This is kind of an interesting tourist attraction to go on. They basically take you on a site-seeing tour in a jeep. They've got three basic aspects to the tours - nature, history, and ghost lore. The nature part of the tour takes you around to see the barrier islands and salt marshes around Myrtle Beach, along with the local wildlife. There are actually some pretty unique ecosystems around Myrtle Beach, so if you're interested in that you'll see some neat stuff. The history aspect deals with things ranging from the early settlers and some surviving buildings, to plantation-era buildings and slave cabins, to the Gullah culture of African islanders nearby that was made famous in Porgy and Bess. Finally, there are the ghost stories, and Myrtle Beach is filled with them. The Carolina Safari Jeep Tour takes you around a graveyard while the tour guide tells you ghost stories. There are a pretty wide variety of local stories, ranging from pirates to local hauntings to stories based in African culture and brought over by slaves.
Tours operate all year, and Carolina Safari Jeep Tours has gotten mostly good reviews from people. It takes about 3 hours, and a jeep can fit 14 people. You should go to their website here if you're interested and make sure to call ahead, as you'll have to make a reservation beforehand.
