One of the higher ranked golf courses in Myrtle Beach is the Dunes Golf and Beach Club. It's been ranked by a number of magazines in the top 100 golf courses in America - and it does even better among public courses, getting a #15 rating from Golf Digest in 2003. One of its holes, called Waterloo, is also consistently ranked among the best holes in the U.S. and among the top 100 or so in the world. There's a lot here to attract serious golfers, and if you're going on a golf trip to Myrtle Beach this should be one of your stops.

The Dunes was designed by Trent Jones, and it includes a number of obstacles to spice up the game - trees line the holes, and there are a number of water obstacles. Most of the holes are par 4, and it's an 18 hole course. There's some interesting history of the course available here if you're interested in that sort of thing, and the Dunes is a course that has an illustrious background - host to numerous tournaments and events over the years. They've also got an official history on their web site, along with lists of all the famous past events there. Their official web site will let you book tee times online - but you'll have to turn off your pop-up blocker if you have one to get it to work. They've also got a nice map of the course (click on the numbers in the little bar above it to see each individual hole) so that you can preview what you'd be getting into.
