Myrtle Beach Convention Center
Located just a few blocks from the beach near the south end of town, the Myrtle Beach Convention Center is an expansive facility that has the capability of hosting multiple events at any given time, including large events that demand huge amounts of exhibition space as well as break-out rooms for smaller gatherings.
Guests enter the Myrtle Beach Convention Center through a pristinely landscaped area with fountains into an expansive lobby with plenty of windows and natural light. The lobby corridor is used for vendors or other tables during conventions, meetings, symposiums, or other events held here. The lobby leads to the Exhibition Hall, the largest space at this convention center. Able to be divided into three separate spaces, the Exhibition Hall includes 100,800 square feet total and boasts 35 foot ceilings and no columns to obstruct views. The area can hold 10,000 guests theater style and when the entire space is open about 550 vendor booths can fit inside.
In addition to the main exhibition space, there are two floors of smaller meeting rooms available for use at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. The eight meeting rooms on the first floor range from about 600 square feet in size to almost 1,000 square feet. Ceilings are 12 feet high and rooms can accommodate 40-70 people for a banquet-style affair and about 100 in a theater setting. Similarly, the nine meeting rooms on the second floor – accessible by escalator or elevator – average 600 to 1,000 square feet as well and have similar capacity limitations. All are nicely appointed and convenient to bathrooms and other facilities.
Services available at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center include state-of-the-art video conferencing, available for meetings, conferences, and social gatherings of all sizes. In addition, the convention center offers catering services via its 8,000 square foot kitchen. A huge variety of menus are available and the chefs do their best to fulfill special requests.
Attached to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center is a Sheraton hotel, which provides convenient accommodations for those attending an event at the adjacent venue. Opened in spring 2003, the Sheraton boasts 402 hotel rooms of a variety of configurations, all just a stone’s throw from the convention center facilities. Amenities at the hotel include a heated indoor pool, fitness facility, in-room massage treatments, whirlpool, gift shop, laundry/valet service, and concierge services. Dining at the Sheraton includes Vidalia Restaurant, which is open for all three meals and offers mostly casual fare in a contemporary setting. Also onsite is the Coffee and Cream Coffee Shop, which serves Starbucks coffee and a variety of light items for breakfast and lunch. Adult visitors can also head to the M-Bar for cocktails and snacks. That venue is also available for group gatherings.
The hotel often offers special rates for those attending an event at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
