Myrtle Beach Pelicans
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans are a minor league baseball team
that plays in the Carolina League and are located in Myrtle Beach. They are a
farm team for the Atlanta Braves. They've actually sent on nearly 50 of their
players to the major leagues and have won two Carolina League championships
since 1999, when they debuted. They play at Coastal Federal Field, which is a
5,000 person baseball field. They replaced the Myrtle Beach Hurricanes, which
was the previous minor league baseball team that had left the city in 1992.
If you want to catch a baseball game in the area the Pelicans
are your best bet. There are a lot of young baseball players passing through
the area because the
Cal Ripken Experience
hosts a number of baseball camps and tournaments for Little League players,
and if one of your kids is going to the summer camps a Pelicans game is a
good, fun evening for them. You can view their official website here, which
has detailed information on the players and team, as well as a play schedule
here
so that you can figure out if a game is going on when you'll be there. Tickets
are very cheap - $4.50 is the cheapest for lawn seating, up to $9 for a box
seat. That makes it a great way to spend an evening without spending too much
money.
