Palace Theater in Myrtle Beach

The Palace Theater is a big, 2500 seat theatre built in the middle of Myrtle Beach as part of the Broadway at the Beach entertainment area.

The main auditorium at the Palace Theatre includes 2,638 seats with about 1,400 on the orchestra level and the other 1,200 located on the mezzanine level. All seats provide excellent views of the stage and the actors, singers, comedians, and others that grace it with their talents. The orchestra level has no steps and easily accommodates those who physical handicaps. Spaces are also reserved for those in wheelchairs.

A smaller venue, known as the King’s Suite Showroom, is also available for more intimate entertainment. Situated just off the grand lobby, this 1,700 square foot space is divided into two sections with one center aisle and is ideal for shows that are better performed in a small space. Available for rent by local and other performing groups, the King’s Suite Showroom seats 140 patrons and includes state-of-the-art sound and other systems.

It is home to a number of different occasional shows, but there are only a couple of major recurring ones:

Le Grande Cirque - This is a big, circus-themed evening show. It has acrobatics, juggling, high-wire acts, weird costumes, little dogs that can do backflips, along with classical music that has been played with a "rock" feel to it in the background. There's fire-breathing, people spinning around from the ceiling, spinning in little wheel things, performing cool looking balancing acts, and generally dancing around. It's sort of like Cirque de Soleil. This runs for most of the year. You can watch a video of the show here (only about 5 minutes, but you'll get the idea).

Tribute to Dean Martin - This is a tribute show to Dean Martin's variety show, and it's got impersonators of a number of celebrities who were on the show - Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Cher, and lots of others. They put the audience in a cabaret lounge to make it feel like you're watching the actual show. It runs for most of the year, too, and is held in a smaller lounge bar area and not in the main center.

The address of the Palace Theatre is:

1420 Celebrity Circle

Myrtle Beach, SC 29577
