Being an oceanfront area, Myrtle Beach is obviously home to lots of watersport rental-type companies, and one of the traditional tourist favorites is to go parasailing. Basically, you get behind a boat in a parachute and the boat pulls you along - so you're in the air being held up and kind of gliding. If you wander along the beach near popular tourist areas such as Broadway at the Beach or Barefoot Landing you're likely to find one, but there are several reputable water sport companies that you should take a look at and can call ahead of time:
Captain Dick's Water Sports - They've got a pretty extensive array of different sports they rent equipment for, and they will also take you up on a parasail. They're based out of Murrells Inlet, which is sort of on the south end of the Grand Strand area. It costs $59 per person for a single parasail, $49 per person if you go up in a double. Parasail Express - This is another big company that offers parasailing, but you have to make a reservation to do it. They drive around 10 minutes out into the ocean, then take you up 500 feet in the air, where you'll get a good glimpse of the waters and coastline, and they take you to an area where you can often see dolphins and turtles. You have to call ahead at 843-357-7777. They also have a website here.
Myrtle Beach Water Sports - This is one option, but you'll have to call to find out details. You can make reservations at 843-497-8848. They've got a website here, but not much information on it.
