Sea Mist is a family-oriented resort in Myrtle Beach that sells a number of different kinds of vacation packages. These generally include your room as well as passes to different attractions in the area, and they last for anywhere ranging up to a week. They offer family vacation packages, which include a room for four or five people for a week, along with passes to amusement parks, water parks, and the kinds of things families can enjoy together. They also have about a dozen different golf packages that let you stay there and give you a pass to a selection of courses each day - these tend to be designed for one person and last four days, but if you're in a group you can each get one, or if you have a very big group (16 or more people) you can get some pretty big discounts if you call them up and book it together.
The resort itself is on the beach, and they have lots of rooms with views of the ocean (though expect to pay a little more). It also has its own water park, complete with a lazy river and slides. The Sea Mist Water Park is open only to guests and is open for the entire tourist season. They have nine total regular swimming pools and three jaccuzis.
Reviews:
It generally gets pretty positive reviews. It's a low price range resort, so you're not going to be getting absolute luxury, but it's overall decent quality with only a couple of problems. The complaints multiple people have made:
1) Dirt and sand on the floors. It's a beachfront resort, so to some extent this is inevitable, and I would wipe your shoes or take them off before you go into your room, because otherwise you are probably going to drag some in.
2) Parking can get filled up if it's in the prime vacation periods.
3) It's better for families than couples - there are going to be kids running around everywhere and it's not really the kind of romantic beach atmosphere that you can get at some of the other resorts.
Overall, I would go here if you want a cheap deal. If you want higher quality, there are better resorts, but you're going to pay more for it. Sea Mist is not the best resort in the area in terms of quality, but it is one of the cheapest. You can view their web site here for more information.
