There are, however, avid golfers that do indeed play year round, content to deal with the colder winter months – when lows are in the mid-30s – and the heat of summer, which can indeed by scorching. (So, you’ll want to schedule an early tee time if you’re visiting in June through September.)
If you are coming to South Carolina for some beach time, there’s a fairly wide window of opportunity as far as enjoying some fun in the sun is concerned. Hotel rates are definitely less expensive during that time and you can probably find some excellent weekly rates for one of the many high-rise condominiums situated along the beach. Many resorts run specials in the shoulder seasons as well – like March and November – so check them out.
If you don’t want to spend time with teenagers, avoid arriving in June. During that month, many area high school seniors – who just graduated from school – head to Myrtle Beach for Senior Week.
